16 and Pregnant/Teen Mom

I don't even know where to start with this one.  I mean on one hand it's good that these teen moms are being given a way to provide for their children, but are teenagers looking at these programs and thinking, "I don't want to end up like them" or "Well, if I get pregnant at least I can try out for next season..."

If you go to the casting page for 16 and Pregnant it reads:

 From morning sickness to mood swings, and to even the day of the baby's arrival, we would like you to let us document this exciting, life changing event.

I will be the first to admit that having a baby can be very exciting and without a doubt life changing, but is this the message that should be sent to TEENAGE girls?  This reality show is not realistic at all.  Realistically, the odds of a pregnant teen going on to become semi-famous by starring in not one, but two reality shows on MTV, and pose for magazine covers is slim to none.  I can't blame the girls on the show, at least not the first season.  I mean they have to do what they have to do to provide for their babies even if it does mean capitalizing on their poor judgment. 

We have all seen those episodes of Maury where the 15-year old girl is desperate to have a baby.  Are these two programs not adding to that problem?  "Not only am I gonna have a baby at 15, I am gonna become famous for it!", this is a thought that you can bet your ass on more than one girl out there in the world is thinking right now.  You have to wonder what is going through the minds of the casting directors when they are interviewing girls for upcoming seasons.

Last night was a prime example of "crazy baby mama" and I so do not want to be that one. I almost beat the breaks off this fast ass little girl last night. You see, I know all the games that these young chicks play nowadays. Funny how you come up to the barber shop in the middle of the night to hang out with all these guys, one in particular, or so it seems. But for some reason you are following about 5 steps behind my BD's every move. You walk just far enough behind him so the other guy doesn't notice and you probably thought you were fooling me too since I KNOW you know exactly who I am. Little do you know, you almost got your ponytail snatched the F out your bald head. Anywho, her little slut feelings were crushed when I made certain that his attention was 100% focused on ME, in true Scorpio fashion. Ha, you thought u stood a chance?
